The JV traveled to Grand Rapids Forest Hills for their second game of the season. FH opened the scoring early in the first half but the Mustangs battled back with a goal by Nick Wester on a nice assist by Brent Zeitler. The first half ended in a 1-1 tie. Both teams battle evenly until the middle of the second half when Mike Louks crossed the ball over a defender's head to Iain Walker who scored to give the JV a 2-1 lead. PC put the game away just minutes later when Colin Norman, on a throw-in from the right sideline, delivered the ball perfectly to Jason Brown on the left side of the field. The JV fought back late in the game Thursday night to settle for a 2-2 tie with a surprisingly good Northern JV team. Northern's Matt Hecker scored the first half's only goal to give Northern a 1-0 lead at half. Nick Wester scored quickly in the second half for Central on an assist by Ko Yamamoto. Midway through the second half, Northern's Matt Toepper dribbled through several Central defenders to score an unassisted goal from outside the box. That goal put Northern ahead 2-1 and created a sense of urgency in Central as they looked at their first loss of the season. Central picked up the pace applying solid pressure to a stingy Northern defense. With less than two minutes left, Wester deflected a cross from Blake Glass to score the tying goal. Central's JV record stands at 3-0-1. Next Game: West Ottawa at home Saturday 9-6.
